God's Love for You

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   John 3:16

John 3:16 could be called everybody's verse.  Probably more people have found the Savior through this verse than any other verse in the Word of God. God loves YOU!

  1. The dimension of God's love - He loved the world, a world of sinners.  Each one of us is a sinner (For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. - Romans 3:23).  God loves the people of this world in spite of their practices, habits, values, and methods.  Regardless of what you do, you are never outside the love of God.
  2. The demonstration of God's love - He gave.  God's love made Him do something.  When God saw our need, he gave.
  3. The depth of God's love - He gave His only begotten Son, His ONLY Son, to be born of a virgin, live a sinless life, and then voluntarily go to a cross to die for sinners as a perfect sacrifice for them.
  4. The desire of God's love - The Lord is...not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9 God's love desires a personal trust and reliance upon the Lord Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son.  That gift of God's love must be received personally and individually by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  5. The destination of God's love - is Heaven. God didn't send our Lord Jesus Christ into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world (including you and I) may receive eternal life through His Son .  However, without receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior, you will eternally perish in a place called Hell. Won't you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior today and assure your place in Heaven?

What must I do?

The only thing you must do is receive the gift that God freely offers to you. You may do that by asking God directly to save you. If you have never prayed before, now is a good time to begin; below is a sample prayer of how you may ask God to save you:

"Lord, I know that I am a sinner, and if I were to die now, I would spend eternity apart from you in Hell.  I believe your Word, that you sent your Son to die in my place and give to me eternal life.  I now ask you to save me.  I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior and my Lord.

Thank you, Lord, for saving me.  Amen"
