Matt. 11:28-30

Come Unto MeMatt. 11:28-30: "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart and find rest for your soul, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

The cause for life is very much a Christian issue. Jesus Christ would not be for abortion. The context of the Bible tells us this. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners(John 3:17). When the issue of abortion is faced, there are three wrongs that we must face:

  1. Fornication in most cases has already taken place. However, I do recognize married women sometimes seek abortions. The Bible teaches against fornication. 1Cor. 6:18: "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body: but he that committed fornication sinneth against his own body."
  2. If abortion is carried out, murder is going to take place. Ex. 20:13 testifies "Thou shalt not kill." The fetus inside the mother is definitely alive. If the mother brings it to birth, she will love it. God has put that instinct in mothers, and for that matter, all animals.
  3. Is the mother a Christian? People become Christians by a definite decision. The definition of a Christian would vary among people. The Bible definition would require the person to believe in their heart that God has raised Christ from the dead(Rom. 10:9). This heart relationship should convict the mother of the sin of killing her baby. The relationship would also tell her fornication is wrong. The whole format of evolution teaching that people evolved and are just animals is wrong; the Bible says people were created in the image of God( Gen. 1:26).

This is where the Scripture (Matt. 11:28-30) comes into the picture. If pro-life workers can love the client to Christ as verse 28 invites: then this whole issue would work itself out. Jesus Christ is the solution to the problem. He is a very loving person, and He changes the heart of the client. The desire for an abortion should subside, and also the desire to continue in fornication should be taken away. The Gospel going forth is our goal.
