Choose Life

Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”

It is essential and irrefutable that as human beings we understand that God has given us the freedom to choose, freedom to decide. We have not been created as the angels were created specifically for different activities or services. (Romans 14:5)

I want to clarify that I am not a pro-choice person, but once we are saved, and we know the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, the choice becomes more clear and more specific. This passage from Deuteronomy 30:19 God insists and requires us to choose life.

Regarding abortion, I believe that God also gives us the option. Let me explain: The Bible, speaking through Moses tells us that God said: “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” (Deuteronomy 30:19)

God created us as people free morally, with the ability to choose our future. He gave us, however, explicit instructions about the direction we should choose wisely: “... choose therefore life ....” When choosing life (the unborn) which is our “seed” the curse will not come over us.

The value that the Bible gives to children is of course incalculable. The Lord says, unborn children are the “heirs” and “rewards” of the Lord: “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD; and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” (Psalm 127:3) If someone claims that the Bible does not say explicitly that the unborn baby is a person, the spirit of that person could not be more contentious. Psalm 127 tells us clearly that “the fruit of the womb” (An unborn child) is “inheritance of the Lord” for us.

Among the ancient Hebrews, there was punishment for a person that did harm to a pregnant woman and that such damage, that woman had an unwanted abortion: “If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow; he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life.” (Exodus 21:22-23)

It is evident that God considers the unborn child as a human being worthy of care, value and “inheritance” of God for their children. The Bible goes so far as to tell us that God knows us before birth, while we were in the womb of our mothers! God called Isaiah and Jeremiah to be prophets from before birth, when babies were not born yet. (Isa. 49:1, 5; Jer. 1:4-5).

Those who believe and practice abortions, for example, argue that an unborn baby is simply a “fetus” or a “mass of blood,” but ... Do you believe that God would order “prophets” to “fetus” or “heaps” of blood? This “baby” or “mass of blood” is really worthy of a baby that God has a personal relationship with the Almighty God. Hallelujah!

In an attempt to rationalize abortion in dire circumstances, as in cases of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest, or if “the mother's life is in danger” the defenders of abortion use these rare cases. Well here's my position and I think this position is consistent with the biblical position:

If pregnancy occurs in these circumstances, trauma and feelings of guilt will only complicate killing the innocent baby! The abortion does not solve the problem of violence or abuse...The abortion makes it an increase in the violence...violence against the innocent...the baby!

We must punish the guilty...BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD...DO NOT punish the victim!

To God, there are no illegitimate children, only illegitimate parents. So, even if it is an indefinite position on whether or not support the abortion of infants, because God has given you the pattern, the direction should be your choice: “Choose life.” And Believe me that, as the Bible said, “There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.” CHOOSE LIFE.

The best choice that you can make is to place your faith in trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of your soul. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” Romans 3:23-24. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16. Choose to place your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ TODAY, and receive forgiveness of sin and eternal life.
