The Cure for the Holocaust of Abortion

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3

We are shocked to read of some of the atrocities committed by the Lord’s people in Israel and Judah as recorded in 2 Kings 17, Jeremiah 7 and Psalm 106. Beginning with King Ahab until King Josiah brings reforms, the people gathered at Tophet, in the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, to sacrifice their sons and their daughters unto Baal. There they burned their innocent sons and daughters unto devils and the idols of Canaan (Jeremiah 7: 6, 9, 31; Psalm 106: 33-39). At Tophet they had built a metal image of Baal which was hollow on the inside so that a fire could burn and heat the metal very hot. When the metal of Baal was very hot, the mothers would place their sons and their daughters on the outstretched arms of Baal. The children would then burn and fall into a pit below, as the mothers stood solemnly by with their arms folded across their chest as if to say I have made a “wise choice”. The children would cry and scream as they were being burned, so drums were beat and flutes were played to drown out the cries and screams of the children.

We are shocked and amazed that any human being would give a gift or sacrifice unto devils and send their children to such a horrible death. In America, we say, we would not allow such savagery and brutal atrocities. However over the past 39 years, since the infamous Roe vs. Wade ruling by our U.S. Supreme Court making abortion legal at the mother’s choice, over 53,000,000 or over 1,600,000 per year or 4,000 per day, preborn human beings have been torn apart, leg by leg, arm by arm, by the terrorists in the abortion mills in our country. These mothers usually leave the abortion mills “feeling good about having made the RIGHT CHOICE”.

Yes, we would like to have Roe vs. Wade over turned and abortion made illegal, but that will not stop abortion any more than laws against stealing and killing have stopped stealing and murder. It would seem that the abortionists and the abortion mill workers need redemption in our Lord Jesus Christ and/or their life centered upon the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

The cure for the holocaust of abortion is NOT more laws or education, although these are necessary, but it is found in the power of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Every born again believer MUST see people as our Lord Jesus Christ saw people during His earthly ministry. Philippians 2:3-8 suggests how we must look at other people.

1. We must have the attitude of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Philippians 2:3). People need our Lord Jesus Christ, and there is NO ONE too low, poor, rich or mighty that you and I should not try to share the gospel with.

2. We must have the eyes of our Lord Jesus Christ.( Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others Philippians 2:4) Our Savior saw people in need wherever He went. He saw people whom he could help and minister to. We must see every person as someone we can help. We must look at every person as someone with whom we can share the gospel, encourage them in their Christian life, or be a source of comfort to them.

3. We must have the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Philippians 2: 5-6) Jesus Christ was God of Very God, Creator of the universe and all therein, He had a passion for the needs of people. He felt their hurts, burdens and anguish. He was passionately involved in the lives of people that they may come to the joy of glorious redemption in His finished work at Calvary.

4. We must have the obedience of our Lord Jesus Christ. (But made himself of no reputation and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:7-8.) He humbled himself and became obedient unto His death on the Cross. Our Savior’s last recorded earthly words were for us His followers to go and tell others of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If the current abortionists came to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, and yielded to His Lordship, there would not be any abortionists. If the workers in the abortion mills came to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ there would not be any abortion mill workers. This all may sound idealistic, and it may well be, however, the real issue is that believers must be aggressive in their presentation of the Gospel and the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Perhaps you are reading this and you have never come to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, you are uncertain where you will spend eternity, and you bear the guilt of your sin. Friend, I have a message of hope for you. The Word of God says “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:9-13)

You can pray right where you are telling the Lord that you are a sinner, and believe that the Lord Jesus died for you on the cross, shed His precious blood, was buried and the third day rose again, and then pray and ask him to forgive you of your sin and come into your heart to be your Savior and commit your life to live for Him.

Perhaps you are saved, then you are encouraged to tell someone about the Savior. Perhaps it will be an abortionists, an abortion mill worker, or a confused pregnant girl contemplating an abortion, The answer to these issues is found in the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Lordship of our lives.
